I get these two files showing up all the time but I don't think our porcelain cmd cares about extra files in submodules. Should I just abandon this? https://review.gerrithub.io/c/spdk/intel-ipsec-mb/+/422747 [08:50:16] also, implemented your suggestions for the crypto RPC and bdevperf patches as well... thanks! Or, are you still iterating on them? [11:34:06] Am inquiring from the standpoint of whether I should do a pull and then cherry pick these for evaluation on my system, and thus aiding in the review process. [11:35:19] lhodev: They are stable and waiting for review at this point. [11:36:29] sethhowe: Cool. I'll give them a spin. Really appreciate your work on this! [11:37:05] lhodev: Great! Let me know if they work well for you. [12:43:12] *** Joins: alekseymmm (bcf3adf1@gateway/web/freenode/ip.188.243.173.241) [13:43:02] sethhowe: have you seen my comment on permissions in 426129 yet? FWIW, I'd much rather then be 644, but I see on my RHEL-based system that the shared libs have 755. On an Ubuntu system, I see they're 644. [13:43:48] On a previous patch I had initially done them as 644 and was requested to change them to 755 by someone. Don't recall who at the moment. [13:46:18] lhodev: Thanks for pointing that out to me. I think I must have been looking at an older version of the file when making these changes. [13:47:36] Again, it makes more sense to me that they are 644, but someone else had requested I change them to 755 in the past. I also just looked at a FreeBSD system. On there, they are 444. (ugh). Can't win. [13:51:10] Yeah, not being able to directly execute a shared object seems to make sense to me too. I wonder if something about RHEL requires them to be that way to function properly? I don't know much about the differences.
